Stop the burning.
Smother flames, remove from heat, brush off dry chemicals before flushing.
Never
- — Never use ice, butter, oil, or toothpaste
- — Never pop blisters
Evacuate now if
- — Burns to face, hands, feet, genitals, or across a joint
- — Burn larger than the patient's palm-and-fingers x5
- — Any deep, white, leathery, or painless burn
- — Smoke inhalation, soot around the nose, or hoarse voice
- — Electrical or chemical burns
