Insulate underneath first — the ground drains heat fastest.
Never
- — Never rub or massage cold limbs
- — Never give alcohol
- — Never put a severe case in a hot shower or bath
Evacuate now if
- — Shivering has stopped but they are still cold
- — Confusion, slurred speech, or unresponsiveness
- — No improvement after 30 minutes of rewarming
