Feel for a pulse, warmth, and sensation past the injury. Note what you find.

- — Never push protruding bone back in
- — Never splint so tightly you cut off circulation
Evacuate now if
- — Open fracture — bone through skin
- — No pulse or sensation past the injury
- — Thigh, hip, or pelvic fracture
- — Cannot bear weight after splinting
